Swiss team

Switzerland has announced its squad for the Swiss Cup Zurich: Lena Bickel, Anastassia Pascu, Florian Langenegger and Noe Seifert will compete as a team at this international artistic gymnastics highlight at the Hallenstadion in Zurich.

The Swiss squad includes Lena Bickel and Anastassia Pascu, two gymnasts who gained valuable experience and achieved success at this year’s European Championships in Zagreb (CRO). Bickel captained the Swiss team at the European Championships and made a strong impression by reaching the floor final. There, the gymnast from Ticino finished eighth, reaching an apparatus final at the European Championships for the first time.Together with Pascu, she also helped the Swiss team to qualify for the World Championships by finishing tenth.

Anastassia Pascu is taking part in the Swiss Cup Zurich for the first time. The Biel native made her debut at the European Elite Championships in Zagreb and, with her strong performances, has put herself in contention for further international appearances.

The next generation of Pascus at the Swiss Cup

Pascu also has a special family connection to the Swiss Cup Zurich: her father, Nicusor Pascu, won this long-established competition in 1987 alongside Daniela Silivas, representing Romania. Thirty-nine years later, his daughter is now competing at the Swiss Cup Zurich for the first time. Today, Nicusor Pascu is the head coach of the men’s artistic gymnastics team in Bern.

The Swiss squad is completed by Noe Seifert and Florian Langenegger. Both were part of the Swiss team that won the bronze medal at the 2026 European Championships in Zagreb. Seifert also put in an impressive performance in the all-round, finishing fourth and narrowly missing out on a European Championship medal. Langenegger finished in the top ten in Europe in the all-round.

Hall of Fame

With this quartet, Switzerland is banking on international experience, recent successes and plenty of potential. In front of a home crowd, the four will have the opportunity to compete against some of the world’s best artistic gymnasts and represent the Swiss colours at the Hallenstadion in Zurich. There, they will face teams from the USA, France, China and Germany, amongst others.

From ten to five – from two to four

From now on, five teams of four will compete in the Swiss Cup Zurich, instead of ten teams of two as before. Each team consists of two women and two men, continuing the mixed-team concept. Larger teams mean more dynamism, more mutual support and visible emotions oncompetition day. The Swiss Cup Zurich thus remains true to its character – whilst at the same time developing it further.
