These athletes will be competing for Germany

Switzerland, China, France, the USA and Germany are the five national teams set to compete against one another at the 2026 Swiss Cup Zurich. Germany replaces Brazil and will field Karina Schönmaier, Charleen Pach, Timo Eder and Milan Hosseini.

Karina Schönmaier is already familiar with the Swiss Cup Zurich: in 2024, she and the Italian Mario Macchiati finished third as the ‘DeuTalia’ duo. A year later, she enjoyed a string of successes at the European Championships in Leipzig. She became European champion on the vault and, together with Timo Eder, won the inaugural mixed competition. She also won silver with the German women’s team. In 2026, she followed this up with a silver medallion on the vault at the European Championships.

Timo Eder, too, brings experience at the very highest level. In addition to the European title in the mixed competition with Karina Schönmaier, he was part of the German Olympic squad in 2024 and was also nominated for the 2026 World Championships in Rotterdam.

Two more names complete the team

Jesenia Schäfer and Milan Hosseini provide further reinforcement for the German team. Jesenia Schäfer was part of the extended German squad for the 2026 World Championships in Rotterdam.

Milan Hosseini impressed in the autumn at the first German World Championships qualifier: he won the all-around with 76.200 points, thereby securing his place in the decisive second qualifier.

Germany is therefore sending a quartet to Zurich – comprising Karina Schönmaier, Charleen Pach, Timo Eder and Milan Hosseini – which combines Swiss Cup experience, international success and up-and-coming athletes.

All five teams have been confirmed

With Switzerland, Germany, France, the USA and China, all five national teams for the 2026 Swiss Cup Zurich have now been confirmed. Well-known names, up-and-coming athletes and a variety of gymnastics styles promise a top-class competition at the Hallenstadion.
