With this Data Protection Statement we inform you why, how and where we process personal data, in particular in connection with our website stv-fsg.ch and our additional offer. In addition, with this document we provide information on the rights of persons whose data is processed.
For individual or additional offers and services, special, additional or supplementary data protection declarations as well as other legal documents such as general terms and conditions (GTC), terms of use or conditions of participation may apply.

1.    Contact addresses

Is responsible for the processing of personal data:

Swiss Gymnastics Federation
Bahnhofstrasse 38 Postfach
5001 Aarau stv@stv-fsg.ch
If necessary, we will inform you if the processing of personal data is entrusted to other persons in charge.

2.    Processing of personal data

2.1    Concepts

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable person. A data subject is a person about whom personal data are processed. Processing shall include any processing of personal data, regardless of the means and procedures involved, in particular the storage, disclosure, obtaining, collection, erasure, retention, alteration, destruction and use of personal data.

2.2 Legal basis

We process personal data in accordance with Swiss data protection legislation, in particular the Federal Data Protection Act (DPA) and the Ordinance on the Federal Data Protection Act (DPA).

2.2    Type, volume and aim

We process personal data that is necessary to provide our offer in a permanent, user-friendly, safe and reliable manner. This personal data may fall into the following categories: inventory and contact data, browser and device data, content data, metadata or marginal data and usage data, location data, sales, contract and payment data.

We process personal data for the period of time necessary to achieve the respective purpose or as required by law. Personal data whose processing is no longer necessary will be rendered anonymous or deleted. Persons whose data we process generally have a right of deletion.

In principle, we only process personal data with the consent of the data subject, unless the processing is permitted for other legal reasons, e.g. to perform a contract with the data subject and for corresponding pre-contractual measures, to protect our overriding legitimate interests, because the processing is obvious from the circumstances or after prior information.

In this context, we process in particular information that a person concerned provides to us voluntarily and personally when contacting us - for example, by letter, e-mail, contact form, social media or telephone - or when registering for a user account. We may store this information, for example, in an address book or with comparable aids. If you transmit personal data to us via third parties, you are obliged to ensure data protection vis-à-vis these third parties and to ensure the accuracy of this personal data.

We also process personal data that we receive from third parties, that we obtain from publicly available sources or that we collect in the course of providing our services, if and insofar as such processing is permitted on legal grounds.

Personal data of applicants are only processed to the extent that they are necessary for the assessment of suitability for an employment relationship or the subsequent performance of an employment contract. The personal data required for the application procedure is derived from the information requested or provided, for example, in the context of a job offer. Applicants have the opportunity to provide additional information voluntarily for their respective applications.

2.3    Processing of personal data by third parties, including abroad

We may have personal data processed by commissioned third parties or process them jointly with third parties or with the help of third parties or pass them on to third parties. These third parties include in particular service providers whose services we use. We also guarantee appropriate data protection in the event that processing is carried out by these third parties.

These third parties are generally located in Switzerland and the European Economic Area (EEA). However, such third parties may also be located in other states and territories of the earth as well as elsewhere in the world, provided that their data protection law guarantees adequate data protection according to the opinion of the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or if adequate data protection is guaranteed for other reasons, for example by a corresponding contractual agreement, in particular on the basis of standard contractual clauses, or by a corresponding certification. Exceptionally, such a third party may be located in a country where data protection is not adequate, provided that the requirements of data protection law, such as the explicit consent of the data subject, are met.

3.    Rights of the persons concerned

The persons concerned whose personal data we process are entitled to the rights provided for in the Swiss Data Protection Act. These rights include the right to information as well as the right to rectify, delete or block processed personal data.
The persons concerned whose personal data we process have a right of appeal to a competent supervisory authority. The supervisory authority for data protection in Switzerland is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).

4.    Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure data protection and security in particular. However, despite these measures, the processing of personal data on the Internet may still have security gaps. We can therefore not guarantee absolute data security.

Access to our online offer is via transport encryption (SSL / TLS, in particular with the secure hypertext transfer protocol, abbreviated HTTPS). Most browsers indicate transport encryption with a lock in the address bar.
Access to our online services is subject to mass surveillance and other checks by the security services in Switzerland, the European Union (EU), the United States (US) and other countries, as is in principle the case with all Internet use, without any reason or suspicion. We have no direct influence on the processing of personal data by secret services, police officers and other law enforcement agencies.

5.    Use of the Internet website

5.1    Cookies

Access to our online offer is via transport encryption (SSL / TLS, in particular with the secure hypertext transfer protocol, abbreviated HTTPS). Most browsers indicate transport encryption with a lock in the address bar.

We may use cookies on our website. Cookies - both our own cookies (first-party cookies) and cookies from third parties whose services we use (third-party cookies) - are data that is stored in your browser. This stored data should not be limited to traditional text-based cookies. Cookies cannot run programs or transmit malicious software such as Trojan horses and viruses.

Cookies can be stored temporarily in your browser as "session cookies" when you visit our website or for a certain period of time as so-called permanent cookies. Session cookies" are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Permanent cookies have a specific retention period. They enable us to recognise your browser the next time you visit our site and thus, for example, to measure the reach of our site. Permanent cookies can also be used for online marketing, for example.

You can deactivate or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. However, without cookies our website is no longer available in its full scope. We actively seek to obtain your explicit consent to the use of cookies, if and when required.

We may collect the following information for each access to our website, provided that this information is transmitted by your browser to our server infrastructure or can be determined by our web server: date and time, including time zone, IP (Internet Protocol) address, access status (HTTP status code), operating system, including user interface and version, browser, including language and version, individual subpage of our website accessed, including the amount of data transferred, the last website accessed in the same browser window (referrer).

5.3    Tracking pixels

We may use tracking pixels on our website. These pixels are also known as web beacons. Tracking pixels - also from third parties whose services we use - are small, usually invisible images that are automatically collected when you visit our website. With pixel counters, the same information can be collected as in server log files.

6.    Notifications and messages

We send notifications and communications such as newsletters via email and other communication channels such as instant messaging.

6.1    Performance and scope measurements

Notifications and messages may contain web links or tracking pixels that record whether an individual message has been opened and which web links have been clicked. These web links and tracking pixels may also track usage of notifications and communications on a personal basis. We require this statistical tracking of usage for performance and reach measurement purposes in order to provide notifications and communications based on the needs and reading habits of the recipients and to be able to provide notifications and messages in an efficient and user-friendly manner as well as in a permanent, secure and reliable manner.

6.2    Consent and objection

In principle, you must expressly consent to the use of your email address and other contact addresses, unless the use is permitted for other legal reasons. For any consent to receive emails, we use the "double opt-in" procedure where possible, i.e. you will receive an email with a web link that you will have to click to confirm, in order to avoid abuse by unauthorised third parties. We may record these consents, including the Internet Protocol (IP) address, date and time, for evidential and security purposes.

In principle, you may unsubscribe from notifications and communications such as newsletters at any time. Notifications and messages that are absolutely necessary for our offer remain reserved. By unsubscribing, you can, among other things, object to the statistical recording of usage for performance and reach measurement.

These provisions inform in particular about the rights of the persons concerned which include in particular the right to information.

Google also attempts to register individual visitors to our website when they use different browsers or devices (cross-device tracking). Cookies are also used for this purpose. Google Analytics requires your IP (Internet Protocol) address, but this is not merged with other Google data.

In all cases, we ensure that your IP address (Internet Protocol) is anonymised by Google before the analysis. As a result, your full IP address will in principle not be transmitted to Google in the USA.

Further information on the nature, extent and purpose of the data processing can be found in the Google Privacy and Security Policy and Privacy Statement, in the Privacy Policy Guide for Google products (including Google Analytics), in the information on how Google uses data from websites on which Google services are used and in the information on Google cookies. We use third-party services to provide our offer in a permanent, user-friendly, secure and reliable manner. These services are also used to integrate content on our website. These services may be located outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area (EEA), provided that adequate data protection is guaranteed.
For their own security, statistical and technical purposes, the third parties whose services we use may also process data related to our offer from other sources - including cookies, log files and pixel tags - in aggregate, anonymised or pseudonymised form.

9.1    Digital infrastructure

We use the services of third parties in order to be able to use the digital infrastructure necessary for our offer. This includes, in particular, hosting and storage services from specialist providers.
