World Class Gymnastics
The Swiss Cup is more than just “a sporting event”. The gymnastics exhibited at the Swiss Cup is simply the best in its class. The top athletes that have shaped the Swiss Cup for over 20 years have displayed absolute gymnastics perfection. This is not only witnessed by the numerous Olympic champions and world champions found on the participant list, but by the fascinated spectators year after year.
Impressive List of Champions
Since 1982 the organizers have always been successful in honoring world-class gymnasts at the Swiss Cup. The athletes appreciate the unique atmosphere and expect top performances from their peers and from themselves. The illustrious list of champions includes names such as Li Ning (China), Ecaterina Szabo (Romania), Valerie Belenki (Russia), Svetlana Boginskaya (White Russia), Marian Dragulescu (Romania), Oksana Tschussovitina (Germany), Jordan Jovtschev (Bulgaria) or Fabian Hambüchen (Germany). Even a Swiss athlete, Daniel Wunderlin (1984) stood on the stairs of the podium for the first time at the Swiss Cup.
Participants and Countries
The goal is to present an attractive list of participants at the Swiss Cup. The athletes from some of the most well known gymnastics countries will be invited to Zurich with the hopes that athletes from at least 3 continents will be represented. As the hosting country, the best gymnasts from the Swiss contingency will be found on the starting list as well.
